Terms of Service

Lomelle is a service for adults. You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to create an account. Children never need — and cannot have — their own logins; they enjoy the library together with you, on your account.

By creating an account you confirm you're an adult, and that any information you enter about a child is about a child in your care, entered with the authority to do so.

You describe a story — who it's for, the hero, the moment your family is living — and a professional-grade AI author writes a one-of-a-kind book to a real children's-publishing craft brief. An AI illustrator can paint its pages and cover, a storyteller voice can narrate it, and it can be translated for bilingual families. AI-generated stories, art, and audio can be imperfect or surprising; read a book before you share it beyond your family, and use the editing desk to make it exactly yours.

Every finished book in your library belongs to your family. You can read it, download it as a PDF, print it, and gift it, forever — on any plan, including after you cancel. We claim no ownership of your briefs, your heroes, or your finished books.

Your library is for personal, family use: bedtime, keepsakes, gifts. It isn't a license to mass-produce or sell the generated books commercially.

Don't use the studio to try to create content that is hateful, sexual, violent, or otherwise inappropriate for children — the author refuses, and accounts that keep trying can be closed. Don't attempt to break, overload, probe, or reverse-engineer the service, and don't use it to build a competing dataset.

The Free plan is free forever: 2 new books each month and 1 fully painted book as a one-time gift. Prices are always shown before you pay, and cancelling never removes a finished book from your library.

The Family plan is a subscription: $9.99 a month, or $79 a year. It renews automatically at the price you signed up at, each month or each year, until you cancel. [CONFIRM WITH COUNSEL: the signed-up-price commitment is a standing business constraint — existing subscriptions must never be migrated to a new Stripe price object] Cancel any time in Settings (Manage the Family plan); you keep Family until the end of the period you've already paid for, then move to Free — with every book intact.

A prepaid year of Family is different on purpose: one payment of $79, never auto-renewing, added on top of whatever Family time your account already has — including, for subscribers, the period a subscription has already paid for. The subscription itself keeps renewing separately until you cancel it.

Credit packs — extra books, paintings, portraits, and Living Portraits — are one-time purchases. Pack credits never expire; they wait on your account for the month you need them.

Sending a book to be painted spends one of your painted-book slots (or one painting credit) up front, when the painting run begins, and that charge is not refunded if the run is interrupted — instead, painting is resumable: reopen the book and it picks up exactly where it left off at no extra charge, until the book is fully painted.

When a generation fails on our side — a page that never paints, a narration that never arrives — the ink it reserved is returned to your account automatically. A failure of ours never costs you an allowance.

Beyond that, payments already made (including subscription renewals already billed) are not refundable, except where the law where you live says otherwise. [CONFIRM WITH COUNSEL: refund policy] If something has genuinely gone wrong, write to help@lomelle.app and we'll make it right.

You can delete your account any time from Settings — after a fresh sign-in and a typed confirmation, it cancels any billing and erases your account, books, heroes, and paintings permanently, and we offer you a keepsake download of every book first. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, with notice where reasonable.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute that can't be worked out between us belongs to the state or federal courts located in Texas. [CONFIRM WITH COUNSEL: governing law, venue, and any arbitration clause]

The studio is provided as-is: we work hard to keep it magical and available, but we can't promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted. To the fullest extent the law allows, our liability for any claim related to the studio is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

If we make meaningful changes to these terms, we'll tell you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the studio after that means you accept the updated terms.
